ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
In 2016, the 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act) made sharing electronic health information the expected norm in health care by authorizing the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to identify "reasonable and necessary activities that do not constitute information blocking." On October 6th, 2022 we reached the end of the implementation glide path.
Join us for a preview of what to look for in 2023. Attendees will gain insights about the rule and its exceptions outlined in the 2020 Cures Act final rule. Additionally, the presenter will provide details about who it applies to and how to submit an information blocking claim and what happens to it once it is submitted.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Understand what Information Blocking is and who the Actors are
- Break down IB rule exceptions
- Detail how to submit an IB claim
- Point out MGMA’s resources available to assist you
